Influencer Daryl Aiden Yow shared in a series of Instagram Stories that his mother was allegedly looked down on by a sales assistant at Dior Singapore.
Here is what he said
Story time:
I was extremely packed (almost back to back) the past week and was unable to sync my schedule with Mom and Dad to shop for a bag. Mom was super ganchiong at my “Get a bag of your choice” gift that I was giving her 4) So I told them to just take my credit card and shop as I didn’t want my Mom to wait any longer lol.
I then got a string of messages from my Mom when I was at a shoot about how hurt she was from the way some of the luxury brands’ staffs were treating her. She didn’t dress up much fah- just a blouse with denim shorts and my Dad, being a heck care kinda guy also just wore a tee and beans with slippers.
But is that reason enough to be looked down upon?! Idk, the way she described how she was treated made me so angry!!!! It was supposed to be a fun and sweet gesture from me that’ll make her happy, but it in turn made her feel like shit because some of the staffs were clocking her and my Dad from head to toe. One even told her “N-0, no.” when she asked to view certain bags.. But also, there were lovely people who served them too. Not all were rotten.
Please ok. I wish I knew the name of that rude staff because I would be happy to head down to tell her off sia. Really wished I didn’t have work and joined them!!!”
Any of you guys ever come across such situations?? Seriously, so annoyed!
I’m not slamming any brand, it’s not my style. This is me slamming rude of sales associates.
I’ve gotten SO MANY DMs from people who experienced this as well.
And 80% of the DMs have something in common.
This is also the same brand and outlet that was rude of to my Mom.
Dior, ION Orchard. A lady in her late 3os, early 4os. Won’t name names.
Please do better.
Can you imagine, my Mom does not like splurging on stuff and is thrifty 99% of the time.
For her to be able to go into such luxury stores is a brand new experience- one she was looking forward to and one that she’ll remember. And then, just like that, some yayapapaya SA ruins her experience. PIS LAN. I hope someone someday scolds the hell out of you to wake you up.
