Bedok Jetty, located at East Coast Park, is a place where many anglers visit daily whether rain or shine, day or night to do their fishing activities.
Over the years, there were many different species of marine creatures caught by anglers at the fishing spot over there.
Often, some of these species turn out to be rare finds.
Guy almost caught a Shovelnose Ray
In a recent video which was uploaded onto Tiktok, footage of one of the anglers battling with what seems like a Shovelnose Ray was seen.
The Shovelnose Ray had appeared to be hooked to one of the fishing lines and while the marine creature and the angler put up a fight to see who would emerge victorious.
After a tough fight by the angler, the line inadvertently broke and the Shovelnose Ray broke free.

Endangered species
The Shovelnose Ray is considered to be an endangered species in areas such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and as far as Australia.
It is usually found in coastal areas where it is considered shallow, up to at least 100m in depth.
