Is it offensive to ask my girlfriend if she could test for STDs before we have sex?
So basically we started dating a few months ago, I’m (25M) a Virgin and she (24F) is not, she’s had an ex and so far we’ve only made out,
and in the future should we get into bed together, I just want to be very careful (and ofcourse use condoms) but it would really put my mind at ease if I knew that she doesn’t have any STDs
How can I ask this question ? Is it offensive to even ask?
- In this day and age, asking for an STD test is completely normal and should not be taken as offensive or accusing. So, you certainly have a right to ask. But, that doesn’t mean that she won’t go apeshit, if you ask her.
- Very responsible. Tell her you will test as well for her peace of mind because you also care about her safety. Some people can go months to years with no symptoms and never even know they have anything. If she gets offended, she ain’t the one
- I would even offer to get yourself tested. Just because you’re a virgin doesn’t mean you have zero risk (although it is substantially lower). It’s common for new partners to go to a clinic together, and it could be a bonding experience and make her more comfortable about getting tested.
- Not wrong at all but actually responsible
