A video emerged online showing a driver attempting to exit a carpark with a sofa on the roof of his car.
The driver had apparently bought a sofa from IKEA but didn’t want to pay for the delivery charges.
So in order to save the money, he attached the sofa on top of his car and drove it home.
The height clearance of the carpark was apparently lower than expected as he could be seen driving very slowly while being guided by another man so as not to hit the clearance barrier.
The other man was also seen trying to lift up the height clearance barrier for the car to go through.
IKEA Home Delivery
Perhaps a safer option of transporting the sofa, IKEA offers truck delivery services for heavy and bulky items.
They are charging a flat rate of $70, with IKEA offering to “have your purchase delivered to your home, and we don’t just stop at your front door, we deliver all the way to your room of choice.”
I mean $70 is a small price to pay for safety, rather than driving home with the risk of your sofa falling off the car anytime on the road and endangering the safety of others.
