Officers from the Singapore Customs conducted operations in the vicinity of Kaki Bukit and foiled attempts to smuggle contraband cigarettes into Singapore.

A male Vietnamese national ws arrested and over 11 cartons of duty unpaid cigarettes were seized on 1 March 2021.
He was subsequently sentenced by the state court on 10 March 2021, to a fine of $12,800 or 30 days imprisonment (in default).
