My girlfriend is a flat-earther and I cannot stand it
In every other circumstance I’m tolerant of other people’s beliefs. I simply cannot put up with this though. I think she does it to be edgy.
She’s not dumb enough to truly believe that shit but she insists she whole heartedly believes it.
We’ve been dating for almost two years and I honestly just thought it was an edgy phase when she told me and I brushed it off, but the more it comes up, the more I see she is serious.
This is a dealbreaker for me because if you bring hypothetical kids into this situation, she’s going to try to teach the kid that the earth is flat. And I will not have that.
Its such a childish thing to believe. 2000 years ago we discovered this common knowledge.
Like believe any conspiracy theory you want, but its like flat earth was made up to discredit all other conspiracy theories (talk about aliens and someone says “oh are you a flat earther?”).
Flat earth believers have to reject EVERY piece of information that made humans great. Its like spitting on discovery. You have to reject almost all of reality to believe this shit.
That being said, I do love her and we get along very well…
