Ran away from NEA Officers

Last week in the afternoon I was accompanying my friend in Chua Chu Kang while we were waiting for grab. Im a non smoker. we were at the void deck waiting while he smoked.
Suddenly 2 officers in a white polo tee came up and said tengki tengki roughly while showing their NEA badges.
My friend just started running and then he shouted at me to run too. We ran opposite directions and then the officers set chase. Luckily we managed to go away without getting caught.
I also cancelled the grab ride which costed me a few bucks. I wasnt smoking but will i be charged for evading a public officer?

Anyone who had experienced running away from NEA officers while smoking?

- I was with a friend who got caught smoking at the void deck but the officers only took down her particulars & fined her. Dunno why you bothered to run since you did nothing wrong.
- If you ran away before they declared their office to you.. you probably wouldn’t commit any offence. But all in all, really up to the NEA officers (probably auxiliary police) if they want to pursue it.

-fails to comply with a lawful demand of an officer or employee of the Agency in the discharge of the duties by such officer or employee under this Act or any environmental written law,
