GUY ROBBED MONEYLENDER WITH A NOTE THAT SAYS: “THIS IS A ROBBERY”

Syed Shahrul Nazrin Syed Mohibur Rahman, 30-years-old, was charged on 10 July with armed robbery at a licensed moneylender at Bukit Batok.

He allegedly robbed the shop by showing a female staff a handwritten note.

What happened?

The incident purportedly happened on 8 July at about 7.10pm, at Block 372 Bukit Batok Street 31.

Syed allegedly showed a note to the staff working there, he had 2 notes with him.

One of them read:

“Don’t panic. Don’t shout. This is a robbery. Fill up the bag with money. You have two minutes. Or else!”

While the other read:

“This is a robbery. Don’t shout. Don’t panic. Put all the money in the bag and nobody will get hurt.”

He allegedly also indicated that he had a knife in his bag.

The staff then complied with his demands and passed him $22,000 in cash, and Syed then fled the scene.

He was however arrested 11 hours later, at Geylang Lorong 8.

About $18,500 in cash, two notes and a bag were seized.

His case is due to be heard ag ain on 16 July.
