GUY SAYS S’PORE ELDERLY ARE “NUISANCES”, NO MASK IN MRT & STARE AT HIM FOR HIS SEAT

Elderly in SG becoming more nuisances

Advertisements

Recently I’ve been traveling more on buses and MRT trains recently, and the conditions that the Elderly display themselves has been quite bad,

from the people not wearing mask, PMD users not wearing slippers and mask. People who constantly stare me down because they want my seat. and those who talk loudly like nobody business.

Sometimes i wonder if the MRT security guards are just there for decorations but then again why are the elderly being so inconsiderate these days.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Put it this way OP, those cunts have nothing to lose, so unfortunately, there’s nothing much you can do.
  2. I dislike those that play music or watch their show on speaker mode, in the public transport.
  3. I agree to some extent but saying the MRT security guards/workers are there for decorations is unfair. Tens & thousands of passengers commute by train, they can’t catch every passenger whose not going by the rules. Especially those very busy stations.
  4. Let’s be very honest, if you’re hiring people in their 40s and 50s who aren’t in the best physical shape to be security guards, you’re not actually serious about security and they are there just for security theatre purposes.

You expect me to believe that the kind of uncle or auntie SMRT security guard at each MRT station are capable of doing anything physical that enforces safety? Frankly they’re in the same realm as those old uncle or retiree condo security guards, and just about as useful.

Furthermore, how do you want to catch elderly people not wearing masks? Leaving aside how I personally disagree with mask wearing on public transport in the first place (and therefore not believing it to be worthy of policing), current mask-wearing rules in SG clearly state that you’re not required to mask up if you’re in an above-ground MRT station or on the above-ground MRT station platform. I don’t know what else do people want, posting SMRT staff in every single MRT train running to be roving public transport “class prefects” trying to stop every single misdemeanour they see, mask wearing loud music etc?
