GUY SET UP FAKE CAR RENTAL AD, RECEIVE MONEY FROM VICTIMS ALREADY THEN MIA

A 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday for his alleged involvement in a series of car rental scams.

The police received a report from a victim on 16 May claiming that he had been cheated on Carousell.

The police said in a media release:

“The seller had offered the victim an attractive price for car rental.””

After the victim made a deposit, the man became uncontactable.

The police established the man’s identity and arrested him on 29 May, and he will be charged in court.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man was involved in several other similar scams.
