According to a Straits Times article, a guy who was so ‘affected’ by a woman’s rejection had initially wanted to sue her for $3 million in damages on the grounds of ’emotional damage’.
This was after she ‘friend zoned’ him.
The man, known as Mr K. Kawshigan, did not proceed to sue the woman initially, as Ms Nora Tan heeded to terms of partaking his counselling.
However, after almost a year and a half of his ‘counselling sessions’, he could not accept the fact that Tan did not want to see him.
She soon cut off contact with him and he proceeded to file two lawsuits against her.
Here are the two lawsuits filed
The two lawsuits filed against Tan were:
- A claim in the High Court worth $3 million for the grounds of tarnishing his reputation as well as negatively impacting his life.
- A claim at the magistrate’s court for $22,000 because he believed that Tan did not hold to an agreement to let their relationship become better.
$22,000 claim rejected by State courts
The claim made by Kawshigan was rejected in January on grounds of being groundless and foundationless.
The High court claim of $3 million would be heard on 9 February 2023.
