A guy shared a story of he accidentally scared a woman to think that he is following her on purpose while walking in the same direction on the way home.
The guy claims that he is generally a fast walker by nature and might have closed the gap that he had initially with the woman too close for her comfort.
Here is the story
“I was coming back to my place after finishing up some work in the office.
The route towards my building runs through a somewhat dark and quiet area, but is generally safe.
I was wearing black that day and had a black hoodie on me as it had rained earlier in the day and the weather was pretty cold to me.
There was a woman walking a good 50 metres in front of me and being a fast walker, I naturally started closing this gap. I walk with headphones in and get into my music so I didn’t even realise.
As I got to about 10 metres behind her, she looked back and I realized what it looked like and how creepy I must’ve looked.
I didn’t know what to do so I just started walking slower, which was probably even creepier.
I didn’t want to keep following her so I just turned and decided to take an alternate route, an extra 2-3 minutes, no big deal.
Idk if this is because I’m a fast walker or the route is quicker than I thought, but just as I rounded the corner to my block, I saw the same woman, walking into my block.
We make eye contact and she kind of froze there.
I panicked so I just turned around and walked quickly the other way, why you ask?
I don’t know ask my legs they did the thinking.
So, to the woman I probably scared the living daylights off, I apologise its my bad.”
