A local Singaporean TikToker posted a video online warning others against posting photos of their boarding passes on social media.
He said that by doing so, it allows strangers to access their personal information, where hackers can change or even cancel their flights, and also gain access to their credit card and contact information.
He then demonstrated how it is done using the boarding pass photo that was posted online by an influencer.
He managed to access her booking reference number and even download the recept, as well as the flight information of her itinerary.
He added that he has also reached out to the said influencer and told her about her mistake, and reminded others that if they want to post photos of their boarding passes, they need to cover all sensitive information.
