I still remember the day when I served my last day in the army, it was finally ORD after two long years!
I felt a mixture of emotions as I am excited to be starting the next chapter of my life, but I am also sad to be leaving behind my fellow soldiers who have become like family to me over the two years.
I had packed most of my stuff home a week prior and so I decided to leave camp in my army uniform as I was lazy to carry my boots.
I had also wanted to get a haircut as my sides were getting a bit too long for my comfort and so I went for a haircut, in my army uniform.
I had kept considerably short sides during the previous two years, and was used to it and so I decided to just opt for the same cut.
Little did I know, she had other plans in mind.
Without asking me, started to cut my hair vigorously, a little too much and too short. I caught by surprise, but thought that she knew what to do.
After she was done, I took a look in the mirror and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was botak and it was not what I was expecting at all.
I confronted her about it and she apologised, saying that she thought that I had just enlisted and was still a recruit which was why she cut my hair botak.
But what is done had already been done and there was nothing I could do to save back my hair.
My friends all laughed at me when they heard the story, and I was the only botak one in my group of male friends during Uni orientation.
