A netizen shared how he brought his first date to a high-class restaurant for a $1.2k meal to impress her, only to have her ghost him after the date was over.
Here is what he said
“I matched with this girl on CMB a few months ago and ever since then we have been chatting almost every day, getting to know each other.
We then arranged to meet up for dinner, where I promised her a night of “romance” that she will never forget and to “sweep her off her feet” (yes, I used that phrase…)
I’ve never had a girlfriend before and this is also my first date in a long time, so I was feeling very nervous about meeting her in person.
I bought her flowers and presents and everything, I brought her to this 3 Michelin star restaurant where the price is about $600 per pax. Take note that my monthly salary is $1.6k and I am essentially going for broke by going all out on her.
I splurged on her and I thought we had a great time at dinner, where we laughed and chatted and got to know each other more.
I thought she was enjoying herself as well, and I paid for the bill before offering to send her home in Grab.
However, in the days that followed, I realised that when we chat on Whatsapp, her replies tend to be one-word and eventually, she stopped replying altogether.
And then later, I found out that she had blocked my number as well as on Instagram, and I really don’t know what I did wrong or why is she doing this to me.
Can somebody please give me advice? I really don’t know what I did wrong…”
