I am a dentistry student and I’ve always been a little more particular about dental hygiene. I have been dating a really sweet girl K for about 3 months.
She has a great personality and a cute face, but there is just one thing that really bothers me…
K is quite an affectionate person and likes to kiss often. However, she has no qualms about leaning in for a smooch right after devouring a huge mala hotpot or inhaling a load of garlic bread.
It’s especially bad when she exhales right into my mouth mid-kiss. I can smell the curry on her breath and taste the remnants of her dinner on her tongue… yuck.
I’ve tried to politely wiggle my way out of a kiss in such situations, but sometimes she doesn’t get the hint.
This has been such a turn off for me that I think I’m slightly emotionally traumatised now and find myself less attracted to K, which is a shame.
I know K is a sensitive girl who sometimes has low self-esteem and I don’t want to embarrass her or hurt her feelings. Please help me think of a way to let K know as politely and gently as possible that I don’t want to kiss unless we have both brushed our teeth and flossed, preferably with some mouthwash..
