A netizen shared how he had issues with his gym membership and when he went to look for the manager, he was allegedly challenged to a fight.
Here is the story:
“This is my first time posting. I just want to share my terrible experience at *name of gym withheld*. I signed up for my wife and I a membership for 12 months.
Last week due to some issue of the contract, we went to look for the club manager .There was no room for discussion. They only based on the contract terms and want us to pay the extended 4 months.
As we are about to leave, I was facing my wife and talking to her about the unhappiness of the contract. All of a sudden, the manager jumped into the conclusion that I was saying that I wanted to beat him up.
He said he understood what I said and started to mouth in Hokkien and Mandarin. Then asking me if I wanted to fight.
I was shocked and stunned and loss at words.My wife ask him what were the exact words that he heard indicating that I wanted to beat him. He couldn’t answer at all.I also tried to explain to him that I’m not talking about what he mention. He refuse to listen and called the police.Â
We waited for the police to arrive and took down all our particulars. I told the police that everything can be found in the CCTV.
Two days later, the boss called and told me that they had dropped the case. To start off, there is no case to begin with.
Firstly, I’m talking to my wife. Secondly there was no violent at all. How can the manager just accused his club members for things that. I told the boss that I demand an apology from the manager for wrongfully accusation and instigation. He refused to do so said his staff was not in the wrong.
Since the situation had become so ugly, I won’t feel good to continue to this branch which is nearest to my house. The staff still got the cheek to say that if I’m not happy, I can pay the $100 of cancellation fee plus the remaining 6 months membership fees for both of us.
For all this accusation he made, I am beyond words and still have to carry on to pay the membership fees.”
