Facebook user Kelestine Kee recently posted on Facebook after her hair colouring went wrong when she visited a local hair salon. It was so bad that she suffered from several bald spots on her head.
Here is the full story.
This is going to be a super long post and it took me long before deciding to post this unfortunate incident.
On 26 November 2020, I visited K A HAIR SALON located at Blk 498 Jurong West Street 41 #01-428. It was my 3rd visit in 2020 and I checked in with the lady boss if she is free for rebonding and color, and we agreed to proceed with a price. And I did not knew this would become the worst nightmare in my life.
The procedure started with the 1st chemical application (softening) that was applied from scalp to hair and was left on my hair for almost 1 hr. There was itch and some burning sensation but i didn’t think too much of it. Yes i regretted. Why did I trust that it should be fine, the professional knows best. What came next was she had a shock when she finally brought me to the basin, and kept asking if I did breach my hair previously? And i repeatedly told her of cos not and the whole of 2020, she had been the one dying my hair. Remember i said it was my 3rd visit, previous 2 session was colouring.
She went on and tried her best to soak my hair with some chemical which I’m not sure of. She panic a big time when my hair were coming off bunch by bunch as she combed and it was so exploded. That moment I knew my hair was gone, i cant escape the fact that I’ll have to snip it short. I was still cool at this time but the next thing i realised was, A FREAKING BIG HOLE ON TOP OF MY HEAD.. I stop her immediately and we were all shocked. She started saying she did not noticed if there was a big hole before the treatment so she ain’t sure if it was because of the chemical. I can’t accept it. I told her the hole was so huge and if it was there previously, she could have saw it during application of chemical.
I lost faith to continue and begged her to let me go even though she asked to trust her to finish it. I did not. Tell me who will still trust and continue? I asked to pay, she refused to take and kept apologising.
I went on to seek 2nd opinion and to get the procedure finished, trying my best to see how i can save it. The damage was horrible. I had mutiple balding spot due to the negligence and i was told to be prepared that I might need to shave off. Thank god, we did not reached that shave stage but my hair did not escape the fate of snipping short from below bra length long to shoulder length short now with multiple balding.
Now tell me how will you feel if you are me now.
I went back 2 days later. The lady apologise repeatedly and admitted that she was sorry. Her colleagues examined my hair and say that this kind of mistake shouldn’t be made. They were sorry. I told her i have to get professional treatment to treat my scalp and speed my hair growth. Her colleague said HAIR WILL GROW DE LA, 6 months to 1 year can liao and ask me not to waste this kind of money. How could they? What if this happen on them? Will they say likewise? I asked for compensation for treatment and even if its not the full amount, at least cover a good portion of it which I estimated to be at least $10k. I am fine even if they are sincere and bear a $6000. They asked for a lesser amount and i am not willing if they wanted to brush me off with $1k to $2k, so for that they can keep it for legal fee. The lady boss then told me to get quotation for treatment with professional and she will speak with her partners on compensation.
However when I contacted her the next day, she refused to acknowledge the treatment fee and ask me to go ahead with legal sue. And I did.
For weeks now, i am still dealing with hair loss each time I washed my hair. Trying hard to cover the hair holes when I’m outside. Coping with the new growth hair growing all over the direction. The mental torture; its no joke.
Fast forward today, I received their lawyer responding denying of any responsibility and requested me to attend an examination by their professional. I can’t believed that they turn their words. Many asked why didn’t I smashed their shop when it happened, i replied I know she did not meant it. But now, i regretted not smashing it because they 敢做不敢承认 now and I am like a fool now.
