TikTok user Terr (@pr00tpr00t), who is apparently a scare actor, shared a lengthy post on her profile urging for kindness from the public, as she shared how those in her industry get dehumanised by visitors at Halloween Horror Nights.
She shared how one of the female scare actors was groped by a group of guys who had initially thought she was a prop, and when they found out that she was a real person, they didn’t stop groping her.
She also shared how she had a girl who screamed at her face non stop from 5cm away, even after she had walked away from the visitor.

the more years i work as a scare actor for HHN, the more i realise how much people dehumanise us & forget that under all the makeup & costumes we’re human too.
every single person working as a scare actor has definitely experienced some form of harassment – be it people shoving us, shouting in our faces, saying intentionally mean things or even groping us —
I’ve heard of a group of guys who started touching a female scare actor initially thinking she was a prop & when they realised she wasn’t, they didnt stop & continued to GROPE her.
poor girl was too terrified to even move
over the weekend some girl literally stood 5cm away from my face & started screaming non-stop even after i walked away (btw we can tell the difference between whether you’re really scared-screaming or mockingly-screaming in our faces)
