The hammer had reportedly torn a hole through their vehicle, as they tried to pull it out, and ended up being stranded on the PIE for 1.5 hours.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident happened on 3 June, sometime in the evening.

On the way home from work

A 55-year-old woman, Zheng, said that her husband had picked her up from work and the couple were driving along the PIE.

Right before the exit to Eunos link, they heard a cracking sound from under their car and had difficulties driving forward.

They then stopped their car on the road shoulder to investigate what happened, and to their surprise, found a large hammer sticking out from under their car.

The hammer had apparently pierced through their car and caused a hole about 5cm wide – the hammer was about 30cm long.

Called towing hotline but no answer

SMDN reported that the couple couldn’t get any help, when they called the car dealership, they were told to call a towing service.

Her husband called the hotline but nobody picked up his call and he eventually gave up.

He then followed the instructions of the car dealership to lift his car up with a car jack and remove the hammer slowly with some tools, which took more than an hour.

The car was still operational after that, despite the couple having fears of an oil leak, and they then drove home, before sending the car for repair the next few days.
