A Singapore Uncensored reader recently shared his story of a house that was allegedly haunted for many years. The house in question was located at the Upper East Coast Road area and the house has changed hands several times with many families failing to stay more than a month or two before moving out.
Here is the full story.
I have been living in the ***** area all my life. It is located in the vicinity of Upper East Coast Road and there has been a house that gives me the creeps whenever I walk past it. Since I was young, the house has changed owners several times and nobody has really stayed there more than a month or two.
But there’s actually a grim tale behind this so-called haunted house. According to my father, a transvestite was believed to have been murdered behind this semi-detached house and this was also believed to have been reported in the papers as well. The body of the transvestite was found buried in an oil drum. The story was alleged to have revolved between two transvestites who were having an affair with each other.
Since then, a semi-detached house was built, and strange eerie things have been happening ever since. Anyone who stays in one of the landed properties in the area would know which house I am talking about. Even though the house was rebuilt and renovated, there is still nobody living in it. It should be the only house that has nobody staying in the upper east coast area.
Neighbours have heard things moving around in the house at night. Sometimes screams of a “woman” can be heard as well. Neighbours have also said that even during the building and the renovation works, the contractors have encountered weird sightings as well. The contractors for the project have changed several times as well due to workers getting sick for unknown reasons.
Different families have moved in several times, but they have never stayed for more than 2 months. It is currently empty for years even though the renovation has been completed.
I still remember when I was 14 years old, when walking up the hill home, I did walk past the house. I saw a woman standing behind one of the glass panels on the second floor of the house. It was dark and she was seen in a white dress. Then I saw that the gate of the house is padlocked, which prompted me to run. After the sighting, I remembered that I was down with a high fever for a week. Since then I will always take a detour when returning home from the bus stop.
