A photo emerged online showing a hawker smoking while cooking and preparing food, purportedly at an F&B outlet called What The Fish.
The netizen who posted the photos, Francesca Lestrine Tan, captioned her photo: “No hand gloves, I can close my eyes. But you’re holding a cigarette! Smoking while cooking!”
She also captioned her Facebook post “Please help share this post out for all other who wants or go to this stall ever again, think twice (SIC)”.
Potential penalties
Smoking is prohibited in non air-conditioned foodshops e.g. coffeeshops, cafes, canteens, restaurants, etc. and hawker centres.
