According to a media release, the Indonesia government declared a state of emergency after the raise of forest fire reported across the country.
Just Central Kalimantan alone 700 forest fire was detected with the help of the satellite. The state of emergency status will last for at least 3 months.
According to Indonesia authorities, they will increase their effort in preventing the forest fire from spreading further. Waterbombing activities have already been carried out and firefighters have begun to facilitate cloud seeding activities as well.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, some concern has been raised regarding the budget that will be allocated to fire the forest fire.
With that being said, at least Singaporeans do not need to worry about not having enough mask when the Singapore government has been actively handing out the reusable mask to all resident. The only thing we have to tolerate is the smell of “BBQ” trees caused by the forest fire.
