New BTO will be launched and ready for sale within 3 years (2025). The project is located at the Keppel Club golf site.
The project will include 6,000 HDB flats and 3,000 are expected to be private housing.
National Development Minister Desmond Lee said on Facebook:
Announced plans to redevelop the site where Keppel Club is currently at for housing earlier this afternoon. About 9,000 homes, including approximately 6,000 HDB flats will be built on the site. This development is part of the longer-term transformation of the Greater Southern Waterfront into a new major gateway and location for urban living along the southern coast, for Singaporeans to live, work and enjoy.
We are mindful that the Keppel Club site is close to several important nature areas, including the Labrador Nature Reserve. As such, an environmental impact study was carried out to ensure development plans are sensitive to the surrounding terrestrial and coastal environments. All development works will be confined within the brownfield site, and we intend to set aside close to 10 ha of green spaces within the development site as parks and open land to enhance ecological connectivity, as well as provide recreational spaces for residents to enjoy.
We have taken on board the feedback from nature groups, and we invite Singaporeans to share your thoughts and views on the plans with us as well – our plans will be further refined following the public consultation on the EIS report. We will share more details when ready.
