If you’re planning to head into the city this coming weekend, you might want to take note of the road closures that will affect 18 bus services in Singapore on March 16 and 17. These disruptions are due to three separate events in the Civic District, the Central Business District, and the National Stadium, as well as construction work for the Jurong Region Line.
Firstly, Car-Free Sunday will once again take place in Singapore on March 17, leading to the temporary suspension of bus stops in the Civic District and parts of the Central Business District area. Affected bus services include 10, 57, 100, 130, 131, 133, 186, 195, 196, 400, 961, 961M, and 970. These disruptions will begin at the start of bus operations on March 16 and last until 11:59 pm on March 17.
Additionally, the MetaSprint Series Duathlon 2024 will take place at the National Stadium on March 17, resulting in road closures along Nicoll Highway. Bus services 10, 14, 16, 70M, and 196 will be affected, skipping bus stops at the National Stadium and Nicoll Highway MRT station from the start of bus operations on March 17 until 9:30 am.
Lastly, for those residing in the West, services 52 and 105 will be diverted from a section of Jurong East Central Road that will be temporarily closed for the construction of the upcoming Jurong Region Line. On March 16, these services will skip the bus stop at Jurong East Central Block 207 from 12:30 am to the end of bus operations.
