Public health officer – Fulfilling

I don’t understand the whole sentiment on why people in public health are so unhappy. Low pay? Long hours? Not really!
I work at the north side and I draw 4.2k after 4 years. Bonus is pretty decent, I get alot of health perks, my colleagues are down to earth.
Hours can be long and the processes are not great but why is there a need to complain? We chose this profession and it serves a passion for many of us.
It is not that our income doesn’t pay the bills so I cannot understand why everyone is so upset all the time about being in Healthcare.

- Unlike you, some of us in the industry are simply working for a paycheck, and we don’t have the passion to clean up after people.
- I don’t know which hospital you work at, but in other healthcare settings, we are overworked, that’s why we see the “need to complain”.
- I don’t think you’ve been to the “frontlines” of public health industry, you’re probably working in the admin office. F off with the ignorance.
