The incident happened on 9 June at about 12.06 am, along Club Street, with the Honda Fit running over a red colour motorcycle that was parked on the side of the road.

The driver slowed down a bit after hitting the bike, before accelerating and hurriedly fleeing the scene of the crime.

Potential penalties

It is a punishable offence to leave the scene of an accident, which is considered a hit-and-run – upon conviction, first-time offenders face a fine of up to $3,000 or a jail term of up to 12 months.
