A fire broke out at Block 28, Ghim Moh Link early this morning, prompting a response from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The incident occurred at approximately 7:35am, and SCDF units were swiftly dispatched to the scene after receiving the emergency call.
Upon their arrival, firefighters were met with a fierce blaze raging within a unit located on the 36th floor of the residential building. The occupant of the affected unit had already managed to evacuate before the SCDF’s arrival, ensuring there were no casualties from within the apartment.
However, the fire had rapidly spread and engulfed the entire unit in flames, creating a scene of destruction and sending plumes of dark smoke billowing into the sky.
The SCDF deployed teams from Clementi Fire Station and Alexandra Fire Station to work together to combat the inferno.
Using two powerful water jets, the firefighters battled the flames, managing to successfully extinguish the fire after a considerable effort.
Approximately 60 residents from the affected block were swiftly evacuated by the Police as a precautionary measure.
Two individuals required medical attention and were transported to the National University Hospital by SCDF personnel.
One person had suffered from smoke inhalation as a result of the fire, while another individual had sustained minor cuts and was conveyed to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Investigations into the fire are currently ongoing.

At about 7:35am today, SCDF was alerted to a fire at the abovementioned location.
Upon arrival, the fire was raging inside a unit on the 36th floor. An occupant from the unit had evacuated before SCDF’s arrival.
The fire had engulfed the entire unit. SCDF firefighters from Clementi Fire Station and Alexandra Fire Station extinguished the fire with two water jets.
About 60 occupants from the affected block were evacuated by the Police as a precautionary measure.
SCDF conveyed two persons to the National University Hospital. One person had sustained smoke inhalation. Another person had sustained minor cuts and was conveyed as a precautionary measure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
