GIRL AFRAID OF GETTING ROBBED CAUSE SHE IS HANDICAPPED

How do you behaviorally speaking tell the difference between if a guy is looking at you like:

Advertisements

A) Is genuinely checking you out

B) Is just creepy staring at you for whatever reason

C) He’s observing you to see if you’d be a good target for purse snatching/robbing/assault?

Because the other day I was waiting at a bus stop with a few strangers on the side of the street (A public area) and there was a guy wearing a black PPE face mask, a black hoodie (with hood up over his head) and black pants and black shoes and he kept quickly glancing at me every few seconds. He kept turning his head and he was gradually shuffling towards me every 15 seconds or so.

I’m a fat, short young lady wearing glasses, with a cross-the-shoulder purse and I use a cane. I was sitting on the sidewalk on my portable folding stool as I was waiting for the bus because there was no bench or shelter to sit on. I figure, if he was just curious about me being young with a walking cane or just curious about my stool one might glance at someone maybe maximum 3 times before losing interest but he looked at me much more than that.

It occurred to me that I’d probably look easy to purse snatch from, me being somewhat physically disabled so I was fully prepared to defend myself if he tried anything but suddenly a bus came and he got on (I didn’t because it wasn’t my bus) so nothing happened.

I realize the police typically say to not fight robbers because they could have a knife concealed.

Any tips to tell what a strangers stares Are? What their intentions might be?
