A video emerged online showing a large group of cyclists riding in between two lanes on the road along West Coast Highway.
They were seen bunched together and not conforming to the Active Mobility Act, where cycling groups must not exceed the length of 5 bicycles.
Almost the entire group of cyclists were also seen in the video blatantly beating the red light and cycling through at the traffic junction.
The incident purportedly happened on 2 February at about 5.40am, along the West Coast Highway.
It is an offence for errant cyclists to not obey traffic lights at traffic junctions, and offenders who commit such offences face a fine of $150.
Cycling groups must not exceed the maximum length of 5 bicycles (or ten cyclists when riding two abreast where permitted). Errant on-road cyclists will also face a higher composition fine of $150
Cyclists are required to ride their bicycles as close as practicable to the far left edge of the roads, they must also allow other traffic to be able to overtake them safely on the roads.
