HUSBAND ALWAYS TELL ME NO MONEY, BUT WHEN DRINK WITH FRIEND SUDDENLY GOT MONEY

I had always been suspicious of my husband’s comings and goings, but I never expected to find out that he was lying to me about money.

For years, he had been saying he was broke, and yet every time he went out to drink with his friends, he somehow managed to come up with enough money to pay for his share and even at times pay for everyone’s drinks.

Took money from our joint account to pay for drinks

At first, I took it as a one off, but as I noticed the pattern repeating itself over and over again, I started to get suspicious. I began to investigate, and after a few weeks, I had managed to piece together what was really going on.

My husband, it turned out, had been using money from our joint account to fund his nights out with his friends. Every time he went out, he withdrew a large sum of money from the account, and then replaced it the following day.

He had managed to stay one step ahead of me by never going over our agreed limit, but it was still enough to cause us serious financial problems.

I confronted him about it, but he just laughed and told me that I was being ridiculous. He said that I was making too much of a big deal out of it, and that he was just having a bit of fun with his friends. I was furious, but he refused to take me seriously.

It was then that I decided to take matters into my own hands. I had worked hard to build up our savings, and I wasn’t going to let him blow it all away on nights out.

I took all of the remaining money from the joint account and transferred it into a new account in my name only.

Could not pay for drinks afterwards and his friends soon excluded him

The next few times he went out with his friends, he had no money to pay for their drinks because he could not draw any money. His friends were angry, and soon started to turn on him.

They accused him of taking advantage of them and of lying to them, and eventually they chased him away.

My husband never returned to the pub after that. He was embarrassed and ashamed, and it was obvious that he felt guilty for what he had done.
