The pain of knowing that my husband has been lying to me was agonising. It was like a heavy burden that I must bear, yet I had no choice but to confront him.
Always switches off his phone and tells me his battery is flat
For months now, he had been switching off his phone and giving me excuses like his battery is flat. But I wasn’t so naïve, I knew he was lying to me.
I had suspicions that he was going out to Geylang more his ‘activities, and I was determined to get to the bottom of it.
So one night, I decided to follow him when he left the house. I followed him all the way to Geylang, where I saw him talking to a woman. It was then that I knew my suspicions were true.
My heart was broken, but my determination was stronger. I waited for him to be done and come out of the hotel and confronted him in his face.
He denied it at first, but I could see the guilt in his eyes. He eventually confessed that he was indeed going to Geylang all this while for his ‘activities’.
He apologised for lying to me and promised he would never do it again. I wanted to believe him, but I couldn’t. I knew he was a liar and I didn’t trust him anymore.
He begged me for forgiveness but enough was enough for me. I knew he would never change. He would always be a liar, and I would never be able to trust him again.
