It seemed like a dream come true when my boss asked me out. I had been crushing on him for months, and he had recently become single.
I was excited to finally get the chance to get to know him better.
Got promoted to manager shortly after
I have to admit that I was nervous when I went on the first date. After all, I was dating my boss and that could have had an effect on my work. But after a few dates, I started to relax and enjoyed getting to know him more.
Things were going great, but then I started to notice some changes at work. I had been with the company for a few years, and I was always one of the top performers. But suddenly, I was being given more responsibility and opportunities.
It took me a while to realize what was happening. After a few weeks, I finally realized that my boss was promoting me because of our relationship. I was stunned. I had never expected this to happen.
I was now a manager, and it was a huge step up in my career. But I also felt a little guilty. My boss had given me this opportunity because of our relationship. I wasn’t sure if I deserved it or not.
Tongues were wagging in the office
Soon after, word of my relationship with my boss began to spread around the office.
People were talking about how I got promoted because of my relationship with him and not because of my capabilities and that made me very uneasy.
I decided to talk to my boss about it. He reassured me that he had given me the promotion because of my hard work and dedication.
He said that the relationship had nothing to do with it.
That conversation made me feel much better, and from then on I was determined to prove that I deserved the promotion and that I was the right person for the job.
