Updated Advisory on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) notifications
ICA has received queries from members of the public under Stay-Home Notice (SHN) clarifying whether the text messages and audio/video calls received to verify one’s location are legitimate. We would like to clarify that these are legitimate.
If you are served with a SHN, you may receive:
A SMS alert from ICA (image 1) to report on your location. The SMS would provide a link with the prefix “ica.id.gov.sg/” follow by a randomly generated alphanumeric code. You will then be brought to a webpage (image 2) to report on your location.
An audio call and a video call via WhatsApp from ICA requesting to see your immediate surroundings to verify your location. During the video call, you will be asked to provide the last four digits of your Identity Card/travel document to ascertain your identity. If you wish to verify the call, you can call the SHN helpline at 6812 5555. Please be informed that ICA will not ask for your financial information or request for any payment over the phone.
