A keen-eyed ICA officer at Changi Airfreight Centre was conducting checks on a shipment of imported cargo on 24 Jul when anomalies in the scanned image of the consignment raised his suspicions. Further examination uncovered 20 sets of airsoft guns and parts.

Airsoft guns are controlled items under the Arms and Explosives Act. The case was referred to Singapore Police Force for investigations.

Our borders are our first line of defence in safeguarding Singapore’s security. ICA will continue to conduct security checks to prevent smuggling attempts.
