Petaling Jaya, May 27, 2025: A distressing case has emerged on social media, where a woman named Aiyin has publicly shared her ordeal of being harassed by loan sharks due to her sister’s irresponsible borrowing. Aiyin claims that her sister borrowed money from illegal lenders without her knowledge and fraudulently used her identity as a guarantor, leading to relentless threats and harassment against their entire family.
According to reports from local media outlet mStar, Aiyin expressed her frustration and anger in a social media post, detailing the shocking turn of events. “This is all the doing of my sister, who has always been a headache for our family! Today, I suddenly received a WhatsApp message stating that my sister hasn’t repaid her loan, and as the ‘guarantor,’ I am responsible for the repayment. I was completely blindsided,” she wrote.
Aiyin clarified that she had never taken out any illegal loans and soon realized that her sister had secretly used a photocopy of her identity card to borrow money from loan sharks without her consent. The situation escalated as the entire family became targets of harassment from these lenders.
Feeling overwhelmed and anxious, Aiyin expressed her concern for her mother, who lives alone in the countryside. “I can’t handle this situation; my whole family is being threatened. I have already reported the matter to the police and met with investigators, who have contacted the local police near my sister’s residence,” she stated.
Despite her efforts to confront her sister about the situation, Aiyin received a dismissive response: “Don’t report it to the police.” Both her sister and brother-in-law showed no remorse and instead attempted to downplay the severity of the issue.
The incident has sparked outrage among netizens, who have rallied to support Aiyin while condemning her sister’s selfish behavior. Comments flooded in, with many sharing similar experiences of being exploited by family members over financial matters.
“Some people are truly parasitic, regardless of whether they are family. When money and legal issues are involved, self-preservation is the best course of action,” one user commented.
While many agree that reporting the matter to the authorities is a necessary step, they also caution that loan sharks often do not back down easily. “Reporting is just one tactic; true safety comes from being vigilant and proactive,” another user advised.
This case highlights the serious implications of identity theft and the need for individuals to safeguard their personal information, especially in financial matters. Aiyin’s story serves as a cautionary tale for others to be aware of the potential risks associated with lending and borrowing money within families.
