ILLEGAL FOOD PROCESSING IN WOODLANDS, OVER 7,000KG OF SEAFOOD SEIZED

SFA officials discovered unlawful cockle processing operations at a location in Woodlands Loop on August 25, 2021. The location was also illegally utilized as a meat and seafood cold storage facility. The SFA recovered 1040 kg of cockles that had been improperly processed.

Seafood and meat products totalled 6160kg.

The SFA has ordered the operator to stop processing, selling, and distributing cockles, shellfish, and meat products.

The operator of the unauthorized premises for unlawful food processing and illegal storage of meat and seafood products will also face enforcement action.
