On the afternoon of December 13, a man from Indonesia who claimed to be a migrant worker created a disturbance at a 7-11 convenience store located across from the Zhuonan Train Station in Miaoli County. The incident, which was captured on camera by a bystander, shows the man, who was wearing a black hat and mask, rushing to the cashier and hugging the female employee. The employee appeared frightened and distressed, but fortunately, three good samaritans who witnessed the incident immediately called the police and intervened, successfully pulling the man away from the employee.
According to the Miaoli County Zhuonan Police Department, the 26-year-old man, named Sha, was arrested at the scene. He claimed that he had been cheated in the south and traveled to Miaoli in a bad mood, which led him to behave inappropriately. The man was not fluent in Chinese, so a translator was used to communicate with him. He did not show any signs of drug or alcohol use and was taken to the hospital due to feeling unwell.
