
The infamous racist auntie, Tan Beow Hiong, 57-years-old, who made headlines and went viral for her racist comments; was charged in court earlier today (18 June).
She was charged with one count of public nuisance and two counts of knowingly committing an act that is prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony between different religious or racial groups and disturbs or is likely to disturb the public transquility.
Two of her charges were for the infamous MRT incident, and she was accused of “singling out other passengers in the cabin whom you thought were Malay”.
She was also charged for allegedly maintaining a YouTube channel that had “multiple videos alleging racism or harassment by persons of other races”, where Tan repeated said in her “Malay Man Attempted to Molest Chinese Woman” video that Malays shouldn’t touch Chinese.
Tan will be remanded at IMH for 2 weeks to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
He case is expected to resume on 2 July.
