According to the Bangkok Post, a male inmate has walked free out of prison after wearing a stolen warden’s uniform with a face mask. However, his freedom was short-lived and he was recaptured within hours after his escape.
Wutthichai Detchasithanawat, 35, was jailed for theft and has attempted an escape at around 9.54 am. He was seen wearing a blue warder’s uniform, wearing a mask and a cap while he walks out of the main building holding a document.

He then makes his way out of the prison from the front gate and disappears into the busy traffic outside of the prison. No alarm was raised and there is no obstruction between him during the escape.
Upon learning of the inmate’s escape, the chief of Phetchabun police took control of the situation and started to investigate and hunt down the man. The man was later caught in a deserted house in Muang district.
The police interrogated him after his recapture, wanting to find out how he managed to get his hand on a warden’s uniform. However, the man said that no one helped him in his escape plan and he has acted on his own.
