INTERN SHOWS UP TO CLIENT MEETING WITH JEANS THAT LOOKS LIKE A DOG HAS CHEWED IT

Am I being a boomer or does work-appropriate attire still exist? Yesterday we had an impt meeting with a big client and my intern showed up in ripped jeans. Yes we are a social media marketing agency and we usually don’t restrict our employees from dressing however they want on normal working days but shouldn’t there still be some form of respect in dressing appropriately when we meet our clients?

Everyone at the meeting was in corporate attire even our client but my intern just sashayed into meeting room with her jeans full of holes like it was the most natural thing to do. Does she have no money to buy proper pants or did her dog chew on her clothes the night before? I swear I saw our client side-eye her and when I told her about it afterward, she said that oh maybe our client liked her style.

What the flying fuck someone help, I swear these Gen Zs are a different breed.
