
During phase 1 of reopening during COVID 19 period, one of the KTV operators in Jalan Besar was charged for operating KTV business, as KTV outlets were not allowed to reopen during this time of circuit breaker.
A Singaporean, Leow Keng Chun, aged 39. was charged in court for allowing 2 of his customers age 25 and 30 to enter from the back door of the building at 930pm on 5th June, to drink and sing in one of his KTV roomslocated in a three-storey shophouse at 237 Jalan Besar.
Leow also arranged 2 Vietnamese hostesses, aged 19 and 24, to accompany them for the night, both were agree on a tip of $200 each for the section. Leow also charged his customer $100 for a tower of beer and allowing them to use the room for singing.
Leow failedto comply that his KTV business was to be remain closed to during the first phase of the circuit breaker reopening.
Leow pleaded guilty to his charges for operating entertainment and selling alcohol without licences during the first phase of circuit breaker reopening. Leow was fine $12,000 on 5th November 2020.
