The struggle is real. In this case for me, I’m trying to find some contract work, but most of the free job sites are full of spam or get so many applicants it’s crazy.
There are much better sites out there, but they cost money to sign up for – which is kinda the problem when you’re trying to EARN more, not spend it!
Holds true in a lot of other areas of life – it really is “cheaper” to be financially comfortable – you can pay for vehicle maintenance, health check ups and small care, fix things as soon as they show signs of breaking
whereas when money is so freaking tight, you probably don’t have an emergency fund, and even if you do that’s for EMERGENCIES, you end up just barely staying afloat.
There was a brief period few years when I was comfortable, and it was soooo nice not having to worry about something breaking, or just fixing things BEFORE they became a problem. Life had a lot less stress, and those little stressors add up….
I’m making some life changes, and giving up some things I really don’t want to give up (my own place to stay) so I can improve my financial situation and maybe – just maybe – get back to being more comfortable again, but getting to that point pretty much sucks right now….
And it would help if I could find some extra contract work, but need money to make the money :/ still applying to free places, but it’s really annoying the hoops you have to jump through when you’re not well off
