My heart was pounding as I looked down at the diamond ring my boyfriend had just presented to me. It had to have cost a fortune, and I knew he didn’t have that kind of money.
When I asked him where he got it, he just smiled and said he had his ways.
He got no income, so I was scared that he had done illegal things to get the money
I was torn between joy and fear. On the one hand, I was so touched by his gesture and the thoughtfulness behind it.
On the other hand, I was worried that he had done something illegal to get the money. He had been jobless for months and had no visible means of income.
My boyfriend had always been a good person, so I didn’t want to believe that he was involved in something shady.
I tried to convince myself that he had just somehow managed to find a good job and had saved up enough money to buy the ring. But I couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
We talked about it for a while, but he wouldn’t tell me anything. He just kept telling me that I didn’t need to worry, and that he had everything under control. I wanted to believe him, but the nagging doubt was still there.
Finally, I decided to let it go. We were happy and in love, and I didn’t want to spoil it by being suspicious. I told him that I trusted him and accepted the ring.
We celebrated and enjoyed our time together, but the whole time I couldn’t help but think about the source of the money.
Till date, I still haven’t got my answer on where he got his money from and he is still all fine and still in one piece so I guess I will just let things be as it is.
