Johor health and environment committee chairman R Vidyananthan has stated that Johor Bahru district will now be declared as a red zone. This was stated by him on Thursday (29 Oct).
Mr Vidyananthan went on to say that the current information retrieved showed that most reported cases there involved the spread of the virus among family members and at workplaces.
“Considering this, the state health department has placed the affected institutions under home surveillance order,” he said.
“The situation in Johor is under control. An increase in cases is expected to continue in the near future given the heightened surveillance activities,” he said, while urging the public not to create panic or spread inaccurate information.
