A Johor businessman who was reported missing has been found dead, with his grieving family now questioning whether crucial warning signs were overlooked during the critical first days of the investigation.
The victim, 39-year-old businessman Liu Kaixian, disappeared on 29 July after he was last seen in the Skudai area of Johor. His disappearance ended in tragedy when a body believed to be his was later discovered, prompting police to launch a criminal investigation.
Before the heartbreaking discovery, Liu’s wife had made repeated public appeals on social media, desperately pleading for help to locate her husband. Her emotional posts, which have since gone viral, revealed the anguish her family endured while waiting for answers.
“My Son Keeps Asking Where His Father Is”
In one of her posts, Liu’s wife wrote that her husband had been missing since Wednesday afternoon and that five days had already passed without any sign of him.
She shared that their young son repeatedly asked, “Where is Daddy?”, adding that she no longer knew how to answer the heartbreaking question.
The wife explained that she lodged a police report on the very night her husband disappeared, believing something was seriously wrong.
Wife Questions Why Suspicious Signs Were Not Treated As Criminal Evidence
According to her account, the family’s concerns escalated after Liu’s vehicle was located on Thursday morning.
She alleged that the car’s dashboard camera had been forcibly removed, describing it as a clear indication that the disappearance may have involved criminal activity rather than a routine missing person case.
Despite this, she questioned why the vehicle was allegedly not immediately examined for fingerprints.
Instead, she claimed officers instructed the family to drive the vehicle home, leaving her wondering why it was not preserved as potential evidence.
In her emotional message, she repeatedly asked why a criminal investigation was not opened immediately and why investigators only contacted the family for questioning on Friday night.
She also claimed she had heard that a suspected individual was no longer in Malaysia, although this has not been officially confirmed by authorities.
“I Don’t Want Anything Else, I Just Want Him Home”
As hope faded, Liu’s wife ended her appeal with a heartbreaking plea.
She wrote that she wanted nothing else except for her husband to return home safely, asking if anyone could help her family.
Sadly, the appeal came before the family received the devastating news that Liu had been found dead.
The discovery has sparked widespread discussion across social media, with many Malaysians expressing sympathy for the family while questioning whether more could have been done during the early stages of the investigation.
