JOHOR CHIEF MINISTER MAKING HIS FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT TO S’PORE

Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, the chief minister of Johor, will be meeting Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and 6 other Cabinet ministers in Singapore, during a 3 day visit starting from 17 April.

The 43-year-old was sworn in as Johor’s chief minister on 15 March, and is making his first official visit at the chief minister after being invited by Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan.

He will be joined by members of the Johor State Executive Council, as well as officials from the state government of Johor.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Hafiz will have meetings with

  • Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong,
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Balakrishnan,
  • Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong,
  • Minister for Transport S. Iswaran,
  • Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu,
  • Minister for National Development Desmond Lee,
  • Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Education and Foreign Affairs Maliki Osman,
  • Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and Culture, Community and Youth Alvin Tan.

He will also be attending the Water Leaders’ Summit held at Marina Bay Sands for the Singapore International Water Week, as well as the site of the Woodlands North terminus for the Johor-Singapore Rapid Transit System, due to finish by 2026.
