The officers, who were previously stationed at BSI, are now back on duty at the Johor Baru South district headquarters. A police report was filed against them on April 5, alleging that they extorted money from a traveler at BSI on April 2. A second complainant came forward on April 19, making similar allegations of extortion on January 4.

Johor police chief Comm M. Kumar announced on Sunday, April 21, that a request for the suspension of the two officers would be made to Bukit Aman. The Integrity and Standards Compliance Department has been instructed to submit a letter recommending suspension following the two separate allegations against the duo. However, as of Monday, no order has been issued to suspend the officers.

The Johor police contingent has not yet commented on whether the officers are still stationed at the BSI complex. Asst Comm Raub Selamat’s brief statement on the Media Police Johor WhatsApp group did not provide further details on the status of the officers or the investigation.

The Johor police force has been working to maintain its reputation for quality and trustworthiness, and the alleged actions of these officers go against the values and standards of the force. The editorial team will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.

In conclusion, two police officers accused of extorting money from travelers at the BSI complex have returned to duty while the investigation is ongoing.
