JOHOR BAHRU – Police in Iskandar Puteri are seeking public assistance in locating a six-year-old boy who was reported missing in the early hours of Thursday, 24 July 2025. The boy, identified as M. Tishant, was last seen in the residential area of Taman Bukit Indah.
According to Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan, the report on the child’s disappearance was lodged at around 2.15am. Authorities have since launched a search operation and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward immediately.
Missing in the Night: Community on Edge
The case has stirred concern among local residents, especially with the boy having disappeared under mysterious circumstances during the night. Taman Bukit Indah is a relatively quiet and well-established neighbourhood, making this incident all the more alarming.
Police have not disclosed further details regarding the circumstances of the disappearance, but investigations are ongoing. Search efforts, including canvassing the neighbourhood and reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas, have been intensified.
Residents in the vicinity are encouraged to remain vigilant, check their private camera systems, and report any suspicious individuals or activities they may have witnessed around the time of the incident.
Public Urged to Assist in Search
As the hours pass, the urgency of the case grows. ACP Kumarasan emphasised that time is critical in missing persons cases, especially those involving young children.
“We are doing everything we can to locate the missing child and are appealing to the public to help us in any way possible,” he said.
He added that members of the public can contact the nearest police station or the Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters directly if they have any information that may aid the investigation.
Photos or physical descriptions of the missing child have not yet been publicly released, but updates are expected soon. In the meantime, families in the area are advised to take extra precautions and ensure children are not left unattended, especially after dark.
Growing Concern Over Child Safety in Urban Areas
The disappearance of M. Tishant raises wider concerns about child safety in urban residential environments. While Taman Bukit Indah is considered relatively secure, incidents like this highlight the importance of community vigilance and better security measures in neighbourhoods.
Local authorities and child welfare groups are expected to discuss enhanced safety initiatives in light of this worrying case.
