Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa, located in Kota Tinggi, Johor; issued a statement on Facebook saying that they are not haunted.
Their post was in response to social media posts by a netizen, Tiya Ahmad, who claimed that she had paranormal experiences at the resort, which she says is haunted.
Tiya’s original post on Facebook is currently unavailable as she has since made her Twitter account private.

With reference to Facebook & Twitter Message pertaining to Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa under Viral Media Johor by Tiya Ahmad @ Marrelys FB & Twitter Page on 06th July 2022.
Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa Sdn Bhd would like to clarify that a FAKE / VIRAL message is being circulated on social media (Facebook & Twitter) stating that the property is Haunted / Mystical occur during Tiya Ahmad stay. Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa Sdn Bhd have NOT encountered any such unearthly or mystical issues since the opening of the Resort in the year 2009 until now.
Kindly take note for those who spread fake news, we will not hesitate to take legal action under Anti-Fake News Act 2018 (Act 803)
